Juan Vides Cordially invites you to VIDES for New York State Assembly

ABOUT

JUAN VIDES – A LIFELONG COMMUNITY RESIDENT

Juan Vides escaped war-torn El Salvador with his parents at the age of 4, fleeing a civil war that wreaked havoc to his homeland.

He and his parents settled in Long Beach in search of the American Dream – a new start with the promise of a better future. His mother worked as a self-employed domestic, while his father worked at a local country club as a house porter. When his dad was laid off, he started his own business and became an entrepreneur – a dream only made possible by the opportunity of America.

Juan’s parents shared not only a common belief in the promise of America, but also an enduring faith in the opportunities that lie ahead for their son.

Juan took a job at local supermarket and management immediately recognized his work ethic and promoted him to store manager.

He earned his Bachelor’s Degree from Farmingdale State University of New York in Computer Programming and System Information and worked as a tech support engineer.

In 2008, Juan and his younger brother started a family business, TECHACS Corp, a Long Island website design, marketing and consulting firm that works with the region’s largest law firms and businesses. His hard work led to many achievements, including the Nassau Council of Chambers of Commerce’s 2011 Business Person of the Year.

Understanding the opportunity America presented him, Juan made sure not to take his successes for granted, dedicating his life to serving his community. Juan has served on the Board of Directors for the American Heart Association of Long Island, Bethpage Federal Credit Union, the Long Island Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, and the Hicksville Chamber of Commerce. He has also worked with national organizations like the NAACP, serving as a local volunteer.

Juan married Lisa Ferris, a school teacher in the Island Park School District who grew up in Baldwin. They live in Oceanside with their two children.
